Julia Fiona Roberts, born on October 28, 1967, in Atlanta with Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Her family is the fourth Roberts family who lived in Atlanta. It began with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in theater from a young time. While a student at Emory University he appeared in various productions both on and off campus. He joined the military in 1953. During his time being stationed at Biloxi Mississippi was cast in a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in the air force. The two married in 1955 and the couple's first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they quit the Air Force and Walter started his education at Tulane University. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning show on local television that was aimed at children, known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture they self-financed. They also created the six-year Actors and Writers Workshop later the same year. They welcomed in 1965 two children to the family: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
