Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative rock, folk rock but also has influences of hip-hop and jazz. Ani diFranco was the first artist to establish her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who met Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother was born in Montreal as is her father, who is Italian origins. Ani Difrasco wrote and sang the hit song "32 Flavors". This song appeared on her album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in the year 1995. This track appears on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999.
